The
manufacturing of products from deer horn has tradition in Kleinschmalkalden.
Since more than 58 years buttons, knives, lamps, cutlery as well as jewelleries
made of deer horn are manufactured here.
In 1947 Kurt Haenel founded the enterprise. Son of a forester he particularly became acquainted with the beauty and variety of nature and the domestic kinds of game. Inspired by the beauty and variety of nature he started manufacturing products from deer, fallow deer and roe deer antlers. By the enormous demand for the noble products of deer horn the simple workshop developed fast to a large export enterprise with 70 employees. |

Finally the enterprise was put under state control by the GDR in 1972. In 1990 the enterprise was taken over by
Kurt Haenel again. Since 1999 his daughter, Christa Kellner leads the enterprise
together with her husband. |

Together
with a young team of employees we manufacture a large assortment of products from deer horn. In 2001 we extended our Store (near the Busstation at Kleinschmalkalden). Here you can find a large range of deer horn products as well as porcelain, ceramic(s), tin, wood goods, animal preparations and trophies in 3 large rooms. |
